Every November 14th, the global community comes together to recognize World Diabetes Day—an opportunity to focus on transforming the lives of millions of people living with diabetes. At Onalabs Inno-Hub, we fully embrace this year’s call to “look beyond glucose levels” as part of our broader mission: delivering cutting-edge solutions that enhance patient well-being and streamline healthcare management.
The Importance of a Broader Perspective
While glucose monitoring remains pivotal in managing diabetes, we believe there’s a host of other factors that influence patient outcomes. Stress levels, hydration, physical activity, and overall metabolic function can play significant roles in maintaining quality of life. By taking this more holistic approach, our aim is to empower healthcare providers and patients with a deeper understanding of diabetes beyond just glucose metrics.
Ongoing Projects: iDiabetes and SUSTRONICS
Our research teams are at the forefront of innovation through initiatives like iDiabetes and the SUSTRONICS Project. In these projects, our scientists and engineers are exploring continuous, non-invasive monitoring systems that use sweat analysis to capture critical biomarkers. Imagine cutting down the frequency of routine finger pricks, or even replacing them altogether—that is the potential we’re working hard to unlock.
Toward a Pivotal Clinical Study
We’re excited to share that we will soon begin a clinical study involving 120 patients with type 2 diabetes. In collaboration with Leitat Technological Center, Sigma Cognition, and the Consorci Sanitari de Terrassa, Fundació Joan Costa Roma (CST-FJCP), we’re preparing a rigorous assessment of how our non-invasive solutions can enhance daily life for people living with diabetes. This clinical milestone will be a significant step toward larger-scale implementation.
Join Us in Shaping the Future
The journey toward transforming diabetes care is a collective effort. Whether you’re a healthcare professional, a patient, a researcher, or simply someone interested in better health outcomes, we invite you to connect with us. Together, we can usher in a new era of diabetes management—one that truly looks beyond glucose levels.
