World Diabetes Day – Looking Beyond Glucose
Every November 14th, the global community comes together to recognize World Diabetes Day—an opportunity to focus on transforming the lives of millions of people living
The economic newspaper Expansión dedicates a section in today’s edition to startups innovating in digital health, allowing continuous home monitoring to improve patients’ quality of life.
Among the highlighted companies, Onalabs Inno-Hub is featured, briefly presenting its business line focused on home hospitalization and devices aimed at sports medicine.
In the field of home hospitalization, Onalabs is developing an innovative project in collaboration with Hospital Germans Trias i Pujol to remotely monitor essential physiological parameters in chronic and frail patients. The new device, which is currently undergoing clinical validation at the hospital, promises significant social impact for both the healthcare system and the patients themselves. On one hand, doctors will continuously receive a large amount of clinically rigorous data, optimized through specialized algorithms, without needing the patient to be physically present in the hospital. On the other hand, patients will benefit from better health monitoring and greater control, comfortably from their homes, directly impacting their emotional well-being.
In the area of sports medicine, Onalabs is also validating a device in collaboration with the CAR of Sant Cugat and INEFC that will revolutionize the way athletes train. By applying artificial intelligence combined with a set of sensors, it will enable continuous monitoring and control of key physiological parameters, allowing athletes to achieve peak performance without compromising their health.
