World Diabetes Day – Looking Beyond Glucose
Every November 14th, the global community comes together to recognize World Diabetes Day—an opportunity to focus on transforming the lives of millions of people living
The Catalan startup Onalabs joins the Velòdrom d’Horta Miquel Poblet project, the first Cycling Technology Hub, in the city of Barcelona. The first action was the launch of the country’s first Wattbike Hub.
Onalabs is developing a completely innovative device to monitor cyclists’ lactate levels through sweat. In a non-invasive manner and without the need for blood analysis, it allows athletes to optimize their performance, minimize the chances of injury, and improve training methodologies. The information collected by the device is processed by a set of algorithms developed by Onalabs and then transmitted to the athlete’s mobile phone or smartwatch through an app that provides personalized recommendations.
Wattbike Hub Barcelona, located inside the Velodrome of Horta Miquel Poblet, is born with the aim of providing coverage to any cycling enthusiast (Track, Road, BMX, MTB, Trial, Cyclocross, Downhill, XCO, Triathlon…).
